Calne Camera Club

The Best of the Best 2016.

We had an excellent night with our judge Darren Luschover. He started out by asking the perpetual question, "Do we take photos to get awards or for ourselves?"
Darren had recently seen a lot of photographic friends on Facebook who placed their award letters after their names such as LRPS.
I think it was a unanimous decision when he asked, that none of us would use the initials in such a way. Not that there is anything wrong with it, if you choose to do so of course.

As we had so many entries for the Best of the Best this year and Darren was handing out the awards, time was a limiting factor. We decided it was better if he picked his top 10 in each section and talk about those. He then chose his winners in each section and then the final Best of the Best. This worked very well and will be used in the future.
Chris Grew.
